i'm almost where i want the house to be as far as the party tomorrow night goes. i'm nowhere near feeling settled yet, but i found the stuff i needed to find today and probably tonight i will be hanging up my pictures and frames and stuff. i still have to go out shopping for more stuff.... food, etc. and i have to get a haircut today. i have to take a shower now and start my day with the outside world. 2 days till 2005.

i'm actually glad it's over

whew.... i've never felt like this about christmas, but i'm truly glad it has come and gone. i swear, i have so much on my plate that i can't wait until like the second week of the new year.... my thinking is that by then, all of the shit we've been doing to our house will be done... ah, i can only hope.

i'm at work right now. i have this entire week off and yet i'm here. i had something i needed to get done and when i finish i'm gonna leave. honestly, i think i just need a break from the house stuff. i was laying tile from the moment i got up until i left to meet andy for lunch. i still need to go shopping for new year's eve decorations {{{{{sigh}}}}}}. the actual benefit of having the new year's eve party at our house and having andy's family come for christmas to our house is that it is motivating us to finish the tile faster. you know, a real deadline rather than scratching our asses waiting for it to finish itself. i can't wait until i can start putting up our pictures and our dali posters. i feel like that's what makes my house a home. i love when people come to my house and walk around and look at the pictures on my wall, or ask who was the artist of one of our dali posters is. it's weird, i know.

andy got me a coach bag for christmas. what a good husband. i gave a small, short christmas list to neneng, toto, and andy, and he even went shopping and didn't get me a thing on my list, but did a really good job nonetheless. although, sadly enough, i'm gonna exchange my coach bag. he said he knew i was gonna. anyway, it's getting more normal with the whole "husband/wife" thing. i still kinda giggle inside, but at least i don't avoid saying it anymore because it sounded too weird. :)

i need to start working so i can finish what i came here to do. i'll see everyone in 4 days!

i guess we were lucky

i can't believe the luck andy and i have been having lately. it's incredible... but incredible bad, NOT incredible good. so, i've been sick for about a week now and i'm about 8% better than i was last week. i think i'll just stay sick for, oh, i don't know, another 3 weeks. that sounds good. anyway, let me give you the rundown.

so i took thursday and friday off work last week. i wasn't planning on taking thursday off, but one of my co-workers was telling me that i sounded really bad and to just stay home. "alright, fine." i say. then on friday, i wake up and i'm coughing up lungs, so i decide to just take another day off. no harm, no foul. so, that day andy and i finished all of our christmas shopping except one person. and we actually don't have to get that before christmas, so anyway....

so, let's recap saturday: so, i get up... i'm being wonderfully productive. i start laundry, i finish painting andy's camouflage room, i start painting the upstairs hallway bathroom, i'm on a roll. and mind you, we have time warner's christmas party to go to that night so at some point my happy ass needed to start getting ready. so, as i'm putting in another load of laundry, i realze we have no hot water. Hmmmm... okay, so i tell andy. turns out, our water heater is irremediable. so, andy calls someone right away, they come out to fix out water heater and BAM... $817 shelled out on something we weren't planning for.

so we go to the party, neneng, andy and i drop ronald off at work after the party and the plan is for andy to pick ronald up from work at 10:30am so they can get started on the tile first thing in the morning. andy and i get up at 9:30am on sunday and piddle around the house a bit, and we decide to leave at 10am to go to home depot first, then pick up ronald... but UH-OH.... ANDY'S TRUCK IS NOT IN OUR DRIVEWAY.

yessiree, andy's truck was stolen yesterday. just to save you the suspense, we have it back, but that was some shit yesterday, i tell you. if you are unlike neneng and want your car to come back to you if it's been stolen, get that LOJACK installed in your car. from the time andy reported it, to the time andy got a call that it was found, it took 2 hours. anyway, the dude that stole it was caught driving the car, and homie had the windows rolled down and the sunroof open like he was cruisin' and having good times, good times. he even had the CAJONES to change andy's presets on his radio... oh, no you diiien't! he even bagged up andy's stuff in a plastic bag so he could get comfy like he was going to mail it to him later. anyway, if you want the full story, you can probably hear it at new year's.

so my title has to do with a thought i had while andy was reporting the truck to the police. you see, both andy and my cars are parked on our driveway, not in the garage. and we both have our garage door openers in our car, so this guy could have easily opened our garage and come in our house and possibly hurt us. or even stolen stuff out of our garage, i have everyone's christmas presents out there. anyway, perspective folks, perspective.

oh, and by the way.... i truly hope she's worth it.

a few thoughts.... i'm too disjointed to do an actual entry with periods and the like.

9 short days till christmas and i have 3/4 of my shopping to do. it'll be a mystery to see how it all gets done.

artiticles

i'm back from BAWWWSTIN. that accent out there was some trippy shit. but at least me and my co-worker had fun together. the entire work trip was poo and a pain the ass, but we were able to laugh and realize "shit, i'm glad i'm not out there."

it didn't snow when we were there, even better it was clear and fine on the day we arrived and rained and rained the following 3 days. supposedly, it was supposed to stop raining the day after we left... niiice.

i got to see my good pal, kate. i love that girl. it was really weird to be hanging out there in boston together. you know, like when you know someone in a certain context, then you change the surroundings and it seems a little surreal. she picked me up on friday from my hotel and we drove out to her "apartment" and hung out there for a little bit. i say apartment in quotes because apartments don't work the same way out there. it's not a big building with a hundred mini-houses, it's one house that has 2 floors and you either live upstairs or downstairs. it was really cute. and it was very new englandy, as in it had hard wood floors (which i love!) and it had like old school house stuff. and leave it to kate to have to dining chairs facing each other as an entertainment center. i took pictures of it for prosperity. after we looked at pictures and just talked for a bit, we went to dinner at this irish bar near her place. she ate dinner, i had dessert since i had a really big lunch. after that, we went to hang out at her exboyfriend/good friend's house with his friend and this girl that i think he was trying to hook up with. i learned two new drinking games that i'm gonna share at new year's eve. after that, we proceeded to a good old fashioned neighborhood "bawstin baw" where we had a beer. it's funny, out there, they don't seem to have many clubs, more bars, and i just don't think that's as fun. oh well, i got to hang out with kate, and hopefully, andy and i will be making a trip out there for fun, and her and her boyfriend are gonna come out here next summer. good times, good times.

well, i'm back at work now, and of course, i'm sick. i swear being in an airplane is danger. it's like a mobile germ factory. every time someone sneezed, i cringed cause there was no escape. also, the whole motion sickness deal is wicked. but, jet blue did have satellite TV for every seat. i watched animal cops on animal planet but i had to channel cause i didn't want to be bawling like a baby on the plane.

i need to get back to work. i think i'm gonna leave early cause i'm sick. and i'm still jet lagged.

one last thought: "if you're wearin' sneakas or sanduls, we suggest you take 'em offff." you really need to hear me say that in my best bostonian accent.
