i tried to keep that thought in my mind all day long so i could remember to blog about it. on my way to UCSD this morning, everyone and their mother kept cutting me off... and god forbid anyone get off their stupid cell phone to actually look over their shoulder and use their hand to signal. i was going to lose my mind.
but anyway, last night andy told me that instead of going to arizona for thanksgiving and spending thursday, friday, saturday, and sunday and leaving on sunday night there, he actually has to work on saturday, so he would be taking wednesday off. and we'd be going from wednesday to friday night/saturday morning. that's not what i necessarily wanted to do, but he did, so i didn't think it would be a big deal to get that day off from both UCSD and work. i told them at UCSD that i might be taking that day off and nobody made a big deal, so i go to work and come to find out that it might not be okay. hmmm.... i wasn't anticipating that, so we'll have to see what happens. i guess it is okay with me if andy decides to go without me, but the reason i wanted to go was cause jennifer francis is gonna be there. seeing as how i haven't seen her in about 10 years, and she's leaving in a couple of months, i thought i would try to see her as much as possible before she leaves the country. we'll just have to see what happens. laurie didn't say i definitely couldn't have that day off, but she said to wait until we get closer to that day to gauge what the day will be like and whether or not she can handle it alone, but we can't wait too long since andy is either going to have to get someone to cover for him that day or not, so we're gonna have to make a decision either way. it sucks... i didn't think it was gonna be hard to get that day off, but since the other woman who covers the phone is taking that day off, too, that's what makes it difficult.
anyway, dawson's creek is on and i want to get back to watching it. until my next blog.....

okay, so i just had to put on here, i just got some coupons from bath & body works (where i once worked, by the effin way) and they addressed them to Mariou Nopis. my loving sister and my adoring boyfriend think it is too hilarious so that is what they are both calling me. also, by the way.... my sister got one also... and get this. her name is spelled correctly. bummer.
so, my day started out at UCSD. we had a baby (one of our very first 18 month olds) come in at 9:30am and kate and i went out to the parking lot to meet them. the mom said that her daughter was an old pro at being a participant in research studies, so we thought we'd be having a pretty easy day. well, it ended up that the baby, and she was a pretty mellow baby overall, wasn't having any part of the electrode cap on her head, so we had to stop almost an hour and a half into it. just for some background, i volunteer at UCSD in a psychology lab, and the professor that heads our research is looking at cognitive development. basically, we bring babies in, play with and entertain them, do some neat stuff where we videotape them and their behavior, and on some of them, we put electrode caps on them and look at their brain waves. its all pretty interesting, and i got super lucky on the lab i'm in. everything happens for a reason, right?
i got a flu shot today. it hurt like a bitch. although, the woman who gave it to me was really nice, so that helped alot. my arm was so sore afterwards, but i think i'm okay now. i haven't even taken off the band-aid yet. hopefully, i don't suffer those horrible side affects that people can have after getting the flu shot... you know, those symptoms that look like you have the flu. let's all cross our fingers.
so, for the title for today... i got my little minnie mouse antenna ball stolen today. well, i don't know exactly if it was stolen, but it's not on my antenna. i've seen that sucker fly in the wind while i'm driving a bazillion miles per hour down the freeway and it seemed to hold on fine, so i doubt it fell off... but it makes me sad to think someone stole it. it was all old and faded, but it was mine, so that's why i liked it. my sister got it for me when she went to disneyland, and even though its not like i live in afghanistan and it would be difficult to get another one, but that's not the point. it just sucks, that's all.... so, poor minnie mouse.
i've also wanted to mention... on z90, on my drive home, the DJ, calls that time the "afternoon something or other -- bomboocha." OH GOD every time i hear him say that, i cringe... it is just so freakin irritating.

okay, so i went to starbucks today to get my newest craving, a white chocolate mocha frapuccino. there was nobody in line in front of me and there was only 1 guy waiting for a drink. the girl that was making the drinks moved like molasses and the other 2 girls that worked there were completely inept from making beverages. i thought i was going to lose my mind because i was late for work. anyway, the daylight saving is throwing me off. i'm so ready for bed and it's 8:16pm. did you know the correct way to say daylight saving is without the "s"? people say daylight savings time because it sounds more harmonious than without, but it is technically without the "s." just a bit of useless trivia that i thought i'd share. well, tomorrow is gonna be a long day cause i have to go to the lab at UCSD, and we have a baby coming in at 9:30am then i have to get lunch and run to work because i'm getting a flu shot at 12:13pm. i didn't get a flu shot last year and i actually got the flu. it sucked, so since there was a place near my work that was offering flu shots for $15, i jumped at it. then, i have to be at work until 5pm... blech.

so, we watched "jackass, the movie" tonight and it was pretty damn funny. thus, the title... its a new word i've learned and it was in the movie... maybe people across the land use this word, and i've never heard it. it doesn't compare to one of my more favorite words "cock-blocker" which is a word my love and his friends have used, and for a while, i would use it any chance i got. and it got out of control cause apparently, girls aren't supposed to say words like that. anyway, it feels so freakin late and it is barely 9:40pm, its a little weird. my love and i vegged almost the entire day today and just mostly slept. its been the first sunday in forever that we didn't go to auntie's condo so we just chilled. we also went to saturn to go test drive a car cause we could get a free black & white TV or a CD player. the ultimate goal was one of the grand prizes, which we chose a hot spa, but the consolation prize was the TV or the CD player. they didn't have them there (or the guy said they didn't have any left, but i don't believe it) so we are gonna have to wait until the end of the week to get it. anyway, we saw "the ring" last night and "jackass" tonight so it has been a weekend of some interesting movies. oooh... the paper cuts... geez louise.
i just spent half an hour typing up a blog and when i went to post it, the page had an error, and when i refreshed, it logged me out and i lost the whole damn thing. i'm not retyping the bastard, i'm going to bed.... happy daylight savings!! appreciate that extra hour of sleep folks.

so, i'm trying to create a title for each blog, but i'm not successfully bulleting them and making them the same font. so, right now, it is a lame font, but it is bulletted. oh well. i'll work on that later. i was able to insert an "email me" link at the bottom, but i coulnd't figure out how to make other links be left aligned even with the email me thing. and i also changed the page to orchid and black. anyway, i have to do my nails and nobody is home so i'm gonna go watch tv out in the living room. i told my mom i would go to church with her, then we are going to rob and heather's housewarming party... which reminds me. i have to wrap the gift. eh, no rush, all i'm gonna do is stay home most of the day... oh yeah, and go buy a toilet... THE FUN!!

OH, so fun!!!! i just made a bunch of changes on the lame template they provide and it is adorable! pink and midnight blue. i'm so excited. now, i want to tell people about my little blog cause so far, i'm pretty impressed with what i've done. but, i shall not. not yet, at least. anyway, i have to start getting ready for stacy's bday dinner. and it's raining outside! BRRRRR..... and i have to pick up my love at work and off to dinner at Lotsa Pasta we go. i'm pretty hungry, too. did you know that a dog's normal temperature is 100-102 degrees F? that's why meya is a ball of heat. we love her. :)
i have 17 minutes left of work and i am ready to get out of here. i've been trying to learn how to use this blogger of mine, but it is a tad confusing. i want to ask someone the basics (which i am having to learn the hard way) but i am not too jazzed about getting the word out that i have a blog. anyway, i'm trying to learn some basics on how to use HTML, but it is tough. i found a pretty groovy HTML website that shows you how to do neat stuff.... but i tried putting a graphic on here, but it didn't want it... so sad. maybe i'll try again later.
